Private Piano Instructor Westchester

For the last ten years, I have been teaching piano to students of all ages, abilities, styles, and cultural backgrounds. I teach students how to read and play music, I impart music theory and technique as tools for learning, and I enthusiastically encourage creativity and self-expression. My teaching approach is tailored to each individual student using level appropriate songbooks and workbooks along with materials relevant to curriculum requirements. Materials may vary by choice of the student in order to adhere to and achieve teaching plans and overall musicianship. I also help students to improve their sight reading skills, how to approach the piano with greater confidence and clarity, and how to observe music in an effort to facilitate reading and playing more fluidly. From perceiving structural elements and distinct traits of composition to understanding the ideas of form and repetition, anticipating patterns, and paying attention to dynamics, I support and procure the individual efforts and steps of progress toward each student's musical journey. My teaching methodology focuses on enjoyment, enrichment, and a positive learning experience within a supportive, constructive and fun framework.
