Beginner-Intermediate Violin Lessons
About
My services range from beginner level to intermediate and I can teach anything from basic scales to performance technique.
I use the Suzuki method of teaching which focuses on the importance of learning to play before learning to read.
I have been a classically trained violinist for over 22 years and have accumulated a vast amount of knowledge that I look forward to sharing. I have performed in various orchestras, weddings and private events.
Beyond classical music, I love to fiddle and play covers of modern music. The violin is a challenging, exciting instrument and I'm excited to share my knowledge!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I focus on the foundations of the violin first (holding the violin properly, posture, finger excercises, basic scales). I will then help the student learn to play by ear by having them copy what I play. The final step is teaching the student to read music and I will help them through each piece in the Suzuki books.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was classically trained at the age of 5 using the Suzuki Method which essentially mimics my current teaching style. Throughout my life I have performed in various orchestras, weddings and private events.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My base price is $25 but depending on the experience level of my student, I will adjust the price accordingly.
How did you get started teaching?
My first student was my younger brother. He was interested in learning after watching me play for years. I taught him to read music on his own and he eventually started performing in orchestras alongside me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with younger students between the ages of 8-15.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Not all teaching styles are the same so make sure you feel comfortable with what you are signing up for. My method of teaching requires a lot of practice in between lessons and a good amount of patience and discipline.
