About

I am a classically trained Opera singer. I have been teaching for 20 years. My students have come from all backgrounds of musical genres and all ages. My specialty is helping students develop good singing habits and become comfortable performing in the style they prefer. I encourage the student to bring in their choice of music as well as offering music in which I am familiar to teach them proper technique but not force them into a certain singing style.

I love to help my students learn how to use their voices and develop confidence in singing what makes them happy.

Frequently asked questions

I take time to find out about their goals and preferences. I assess their experience level and vocal range as to not waste time and we start working on music that they choose.  For the next lesson, I may choose a song for them to learn that works on techniques that helps forward their development.

I have a degree in vocal performance from the D'Angelo School of Music. I have had my own private voice studio for 20 years. I have taught through the Arts Castle in Delaware, Ohio. I taught in Orlando at the Osceola School for the Arts and at Mr. Jeff's Music Academy. I have sung in choruses for Orlando Opera and Opera Project Columbus.

Yes. My standard pricing is $30 for 30 minutes $45 for 45 minutes and $50 for an hour lesson.

I taught my first student in college as a demonstration for a vocal pedagogy class and found that I was good at diagnosing and helping to fix vocal issues and I enjoyed teaching and learning about  the student and encouraging my student's love of music.

I have had a few lead singers for currently performing rock bands, one country music demo artist with a Nashville recording contract, many adult singers with varying performance goals, young singers as young as 6 learning to sing, many middle and high school singers with aspirations of solo careers, and older adults that want to keep their voice healthy.

I love performing with the Opera. I recently got to sing onstage in a production of Carmen and it was very rewarding to put several weeks of hard work in and have 2 wonderful performances.

Not every teacher will have the same agenda as the student. Make sure that you feel comfortable being honest with your teacher and their goals for you are similar to your own.

What kind of improvement do you expect? How much work do you plan on putting in to achieve your goals?
