Walden’s Music Lessons
About
With Walden's Music Lessons, we learn music by ear. Chord sheets and Sheet Music is great, but can be restricting. Learning by ear allows you to hear music and play it.
I absolutely love music. And even more when I can share my passion and gift with others. When the concepts and lessons finally click and people can see the depth of the music, it's a wonderful thing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For new students I start with a short "consult" over the phone or Zoom. Usually we take about 10-15 minutes and talk about what kinds of music does the student like, would they prefer online or in person lessons, and what is the students goal in taking lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
15+ Years in Music ministries in Baptist, Pentecostal, Apostolic, Church of the Nazarene and Non Demoninational Churches serving as Music Director, Choir Teacher and Worship Leader.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons can be held online over Zoom or at my church in Elyria, OH 44035
All lessons for either **Beginner, Intermediate, or Music Theory** will be:
$30 per 30 minute session OR $100 for 4 sessions
How did you get started teaching?
I would occasionally teach people at church or friends and family different things in piano and they would be surprised how easy things are when taught with a different approach and perspective. After 16 years I wanted to make it official and have students and a curriculum.
What types of students have you worked with?
People I have taught have ranged from absolutely no Musical knowledge, little musical knowledge and Intermediate Musicians who wanted to know more about theory and Ear Training. Ranging from kids around 10 years old to adults in their 60's.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently obtained a certificate from Berklee College of Music in Music Theory and Audio Recording Technology.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As a student, I would look into what my learning style is (hands on, verbal, etc.) because they can make or break your learning experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What's my goal for learning piano?
What is my favorite style of music?
Do I want to play for a band or a church?
