Piano And Keyboards
About
I have been playing piano and keyboard for many years. The last 12 years I have been the worship leader at our church, playing keyboard and singing. I would love to jhave the opportunity to teach others the enjoyment and relaxation that I find when playing music.
I enjoy teaching others and being a part of their excitement as they learn.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The very first lesson will be all about you. I like to get to know a little bit about you - have you ever played an instrument and do you read music? After that I like to discuss what style of music you prefer and what method would best fit your learning style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I play piano, keyboard and trumpet. I have been a worship leader at our church for many years, leading by keyboard and voice. I took music lessons while I was in school, both piano and trumpet. I was in band and choir for several years.
How did you get started teaching?
I have not taught piano lessons before, but I have a long history of playing piano and keyboards. For the last 15 years I have worked as a nanny and before that I spent a long time working as a Youth leader, so I have worked and enjoyed helping others to grow and learn.
What types of students have you worked with?
As a nanny and then youth leader, I have taught children and teens for quite some time. I have also been a small group leader at our church, teaching adults. I enjoy working with all ages and skill levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would look for someone who has a personality that encourages, and shows patience and understanding. I would want a teacher that has experience in music which is greater than your own.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What days and times will work with their own schedules?
How often would they like their lessons to occur?
Is the teacher flexible if a students needs to miss a week or two?
Would you be willing to travel to the teachers house for lessons, or would you prefer someone who can come to your house?
