About
Kenton (violin, viola) and Rebekah Lanier (piano, harp), owners of Midtown Music Academy, have taught students of all ages for over 15 years, and their students love coming to their lessons! Both teachers are incredible musicians who love spending one-on-one time helping kids develop their musical skills. They pay close attention to detail, helping their students learn to do the same. Kenton and Rebekah encourage students to be creative in their musicality, but also emphasize music theory and note reading, with the goal of each child becoming an independent learner and a complete musician.
All local students receive weekly private lessons, monthly group classes, and two student recitals each year. Students and parents love this unique blend of private & group instruction!
Kenton and Rebekah Lanier both have degrees in music and are expert teachers who love kids! In addition to teaching at Midtown Music Academy, Kenton and Rebekah perform around Tulsa.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, the student will schedule a 45-minute introductory lesson. At least one parent needs to attend this lesson with the student, and the time will be spent talking about any goals the student has, discussing the academy's policies, talking about a lesson plan, and having a mini-lesson! After your first lesson, you can register as a student!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers have at least a bachelor's degree in music, and over 10 years of experience teaching music to kids of all ages! The greatest measure of our success as teachers though, is the success of our students. Many of our students have won competitions, received high honors at performance and theory auditions, and have successfully pursued careers in music. We couldn't be more proud of them! The best part though, is that the kids we teach learn to love music, and whatever role music plays in their future, that will stick with them for a lifetime.

45-min. introductory lesson: $40
30 min. weekly lessons: $110/month (available for ages 10 & under)
45 min. weekly lessons: $160/month
60 min. weekly lessons: $210/month
All tuition includes private weekly lessons, monthly group classes, and all recitals. Tuition amount remains the same each month.
What types of students have you worked with?
We teach mostly kids & teens K-12. Some of our students have prepared very successful college auditions and are headed into full-time music careers, but the majority of our students just play music because they enjoy it!
