Wickersham Violin Studio
About
I am passionate about teaching and playing the violin. I have received a great gift from God and seek to use it for His Glory and purposes and to develop this gift to the best of my ability in myself and others.
I earned a Music Education degree from Southern Nazarene University and a Master's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma. I perform regularly with the Ft. Smith Symphony, the Lawton Philharmonic and the Painted Sky Opera Company. I occasionally play with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the Tulsa Symphony. In addition, I play for weddings, churches and other events, recordings, and concerts including Mannheim Steamroller, Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr.
I taught beginning strings in Putnam City Schools for 6 years and a Kindergarten violin class for 4 years in Bethany Public Schools. I am certified in the Suzuki Violin Method, Book 1.
My amazing husband of 19 years and I have 3 girls. I also enjoy running, baking fresh bread, warm fires and snuggly blankets.
"Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossions 3:17

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to spend time figuring out where each student is: music history, personality, age, and specific needs. Then we build a music plan to make the student as comfortable as possible.
I love the Suzuki method. I seek to build a relationship and trust between the student and myself. "Where love is deep, much can be accomplished!"
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned violin in Putnam City Schools, where I was in All State orchestra for 3 years. I got my bachelor's degree in Music Education from Southern Nazarene University, and my master's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma. I recieved certification in the Suzuki Method in 2019.
