My college eductation was Keyboard Theory with a minor in accounting. Right out of college I began teaching private lessons, then did a bit in charter schools, churches, and in 1995 set up my own studio. I had the privilege of teaching amazing students, among them being students with brain injuries, brain trauma, strokes, ADHD, etc. The achievements they accomplished went far beyond just playing the piano. For one, I wathced their reading in school go from 100 words per minute to 390 wpm (400 being average). Their therapists and doctors were amazed, giving some of the credit to learning to play music.
