No matter the style, singing should be a source of joyous self-expression! Whether you are interested in classical voice, pop, or musical theater, the tried-and-true methods of classical training will give your voice incredible flexibility and power. Proper vocal technique allows you to utilize your voice in ways you never thought possible. In my studio, you will learn about breath support and registration, how to sing a beautiful legato line, and most importantly you will gain a sense of freedom and comfort as a vocalist and a performer. After all, singing should be fun, not scary!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I aim to help new students feel confident and excited about singing through a fun, relaxing atmosphere. During our first few lessons, we will mainly focus on creating a clear, supported sound by working on breath management, posture, and relaxation of the vocal tract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA in Music from Linfield University, with an emphasis on vocal performance, and a Master's of Music from Portland State University. At Portland State, I also taught a course for beginning voice students for two years.

My rates are:
$30 for a half hour
$50 for a full hour
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in 2016, and continued while completing my graduate work at Portland State University. I also have two years of experience teaching voice in a classroom setting as a graduate assistant.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from beginning to intermediate, all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Work with a teacher who helps you bring out your personality and best technical and artistic qualities as a singer.
