Loki Strings
About
We offer many additional benefits as part of our lesson program. Students have the opportunity to participate in our select string group that performs at various local venues throughout the year. We also offer classes, workshops and camps that students can attend to further their musical education on topics like rhythm, music theory and learning about composers. Students can also participate in monthly sectionals for free. Please check out our website for a complete list of benefits.
Absolutely everything. I feel blessed every day that I get to talk about and teach the subject I love most on the instruments that have been a part of my life for decades. I love seeing students learn to read notes and understanding key signatures. I also love seeing students perform and grow musically through the years. I get to help my students build a skill that can heal, that they can love and enjoy forever. It doesn't get any better than that.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out that students goals, what kind of music they love and about how much time they'll be able to devote to their instrument per week. Then each student I work with receives an individualized program to help them enjoy reaching their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have degrees in music composition and orchestration as well as performance for viola and cello. I also play professionally in a symphony and a string quartet. I have been teaching for over ten years and have experience working with children with learning disabilities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30 minute lesson $25
45 minute lesson $37.50
60 minute lesson $50
How did you get started teaching?
I've always loved string instruments and sharing my passion with others just comes naturally.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students ages 5 and up, including adult beginners and all skill levels. I also have experience working with students with physical limitations and learning disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love every performance with my select string group. Seeing my students work so hard to put pieces together and then performing them for our community is beyond gratifying.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest that they find someone they're comfortable with who is also passionate about the music and the instruments. Find a teacher that gets you excited about practice and learning. I would also recommend asking about their education and performance history.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have a clear picture of why they're taking lessons, know what they're goals are and more importantly be reasonable about the level of work it takes to get to those goals.
