About

My name is Mohan Parmar, and I have over 45 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry, including more than 30 years as the owner and executive chef of Indian Kitchen Lovash in Philadelphia. I graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in India, one of the country’s top hospitality schools, and built my career through roles in major international hotel groups such as Oberoi and Hyatt. I also worked in flight catering, where I developed an Indian meal served onboard British Airways, and I have experience teaching culinary arts at the Learning Studio in Malvern.

Working with me is hands-on, supportive, and educational. Students will find that I’m patient, encouraging, and passionate about sharing real techniques, authentic flavors, and professional kitchen standards. I focus on teaching in a way that builds confidence and helps each person grow at their own pace. I enjoy answering questions, demonstrating methods step-by-step, and helping students understand not just how to cook, but why each technique matters.

I will do an excellent job because cooking has been my lifelong passion, and I take great pride in mentoring others, maintaining high standards, and creating an environment where learning is enjoyable and inspiring. My restaurant became known for its authentic recipes, open kitchen, and commitment to fresh, high-quality food with halal, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. I believe in consistency, personal involvement, and treating people with respect — values I bring to every class and every student.

My special skills include mastery of traditional Indian cooking techniques, recipe development, menu planning, large-volume production, kitchen management, staff training, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and food-safety standards. I bring patience, leadership, and decades of hands-on experience to every kitchen I work in, ensuring students receive the very best guidance and support.
