About this pro

I've been in martial arts since 1970 and opened safe day studio in 2005. We have a guarantee that if it's not the best training you've ever had I'll give you your money back for that first lesson. I've had that offer for almost 30 years with zero takers!

We enjoy every minute of what we do. We're all about you being trained properly and being able to apply what you learn. We specialize in reality-based self-defense. We are the best. I teach mixed martial arts, a women's self-defense program, teen safety, military / law enforcement, executive Protection / celebrity protection, And I do private and public seminars. Everything we do is reality based. No fluff. I have two eighth degree Black belts. I'm ranked in five different styles. I have an eighth degree black belt in Hon Hab Do which is systems of combative Arts, reality-based self-defense. I have an eighth degree black belt in shinsen kokokusai. I have a fourth degree black belt in Shorin Ryu and a third degree black belt in Okinawan karate and universal kenpo

After a lifetime of training in the martial arts (37 years), and having trained with many of the great masters of this generation. In my Profesional opinion- "Mr Mike is a true master of the arts and one of the most dynamic instructors teaching. His understanding of real world combat and trading concepts rate among the best I have had the honor of training with. Sincerely, Richard Dixon Director Unified Fighting Arts Association Director Unified Fighting Arts Federation Representative and head of Tong Leong organization for Pennsylvania and Delaware states.

I attended 2 seminars/ Circle of Masters events with Mike Andrus as one of the instructors. At these 2 particular events, we had the option to stay or go. Since they were all day long, a friend of mine who had participated in previous events, insisted “we must stay for Master Andrus!” He was right! We thoroughly enjoyed his teaching because it was practical, real and attainable that day. His common sense approach, and undeniable people skills make him a world class teacher. If you have a chance to study with him: Take it! I give you my word as a martial arts practitioner…you will be glad you did. Thanks Sensei Mike for all your help! Sincerely - Matthew Martin and Family

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I speak to the student (or parent) to understand exactly what the desired outcome is. It could be to bolster self-esteem, bullying, self-defense, confidence, past bad experiences, PTSD, rape, work place violence, etc. Whatever the circumstances, we take the time understand the dynamic and customize the training in all aspects. From lesson duration to meditation, etc.
