Voice Lessons With Lauren
About
I firmly believe that all people - regardless of age or experience - have a beautiful voice to share. I recently moved to Fort Collins, CO from Philadelphia and am looking for new voice students for my studio.
I currently sing with the Grammy-award winning ensemble The Crossing, Choral Arts, Opera Philadelphia, and others. I also sing with ensembles around the country, including Stare at the Sun in Chicago, Roots in the Sky in Montana, and Red Shift in Baton Rouge.
I graduated with my Masters in Voice and Opera in 2019 from Northwestern University. I was the Graduate Teaching Assistant for Northwestern's Vocal Pedagogy courses, and have experience teaching the anatomy of the voice.
I have over 10 years of experience teaching and working with children. I love working with kids of all ages and abilities, including students with special needs. I have been teaching virtually for the past two years. My wonderful partner is an audio engineer, providing me with a uniquely professional sound set-up in my studio for the highest quality online lesson available.
I am willing to travel up to 30 minutes to teach at a students house. (I am also pet-friendly, as I have an adorable rescue pup myself!)
I believe that voice lessons should be a place of growth and self discovery - that a teacher's responsibility is to harness each individual's unique voice. Students can expect to see a boost in self-confidence in addition to their vocal progress.
The human voice is unlike any other instrument. We can not pack it into a case, put it away, or simply buy a new one. We must learn to live and love the instrument we have. I love watching and guiding a student's self-discovery of their own uniqueness.
