Mr Litoff’s teaching style is fun and engaging. His interpretation of the music is easily understood as well as his teaching of technique.

My daughter has been learning violin with Jacob Litoff for two years. She started at 5 years old. We started in person and soon had to shift to remote learning due to COVID. At this young age, it needs a lot of patience from the teacher and the parents. Learning remotely makes it even more challenging. Jacob has been extremely patient with us. Hes also flexible whenever we need to reschedule. He has taught us 3 Suzuki books and pieces from a bunch of other books. He has also helped us with several songs that we wanted to play at some events and we got to advance our techniques more quickly through these flexible curriculum. I strongly recommend Jacob for your kids.

Frequently asked questions

if the student is a beginner i use the suzuki method for starting students.  Twinkle Twinkle little star and a few variations.  I have  them move their bows like rockets  and trains, windshield wipers, and elevetors to get a good bow grip.  I teach them how to hold the violin with their chin mostly  to keep their hands relaxed, and to get a good shoulderpad if that makes holding the violin easier. then we start on learning the A major scale , the twinkles and more.

i got a bachelors degree in music performance at Boston University,  I got trained to teach the suzuki method,  I played in many orchestras including springfield symphony, Vermont Symphony, Hillyer Festival Orchestra,  Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra and many more.  I started my own non profit organization. The Charles River Sinfonietta, mostly for chamber music concerts. Often students will play a solo with us in our concerts or videos we make.
