Betty King: Private Piano Lessons
About
Betty started her music experience at age 6 taking piano lessons. In Junior High School she added the flute and choir to her repertoire. During High School her experience included District and State Band Festivals and playing the piano for church and various community events. Her BS degree is in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. During this time she participated in a chorale group, traveling throughout the US and Europe.
Following graduation from college, Betty obtained her certification in Elementary Education from SUNY at Brockport, New York, and began her career of working with children. Her experience includes teaching elementary general music in the public schools and also teaching in the elementary classroom. In each situation her love and leadership in music played a major role by providing daily singing in each setting, and presenting many children’s musicals.
In addition to this work, other experience includes teaching piano lessons, volunteering extensive hours in church organizations as music director, directing choirs, church pianist, presenting cantatas and musicals, and playing for weddings.
