About

Above all else, I want my students to enjoy their music. I want them to learn in an environment that is fun, encouraging, and strengthening. I've taught all sorts of learning styles, personality types, and various disabilities. My studio stands out because of the students' true enjoyment of their lesson times with me.

Tammy is an exceptional piano instructor. She is so patient, my boys love coming to piano. I am grateful for the gift of music Tammy has given my family!

Tammy is a wonderful teacher. She has taught all three of my children and I couldn’t imagine anyone better. Always encouraging and able to discover how each child learns differently. Tammy is the best!

    Frequently asked questions

I listen to what the student desires to accomplish, gain more of understanding of their personality, and take it from there... whatever learning path will best suit their needs.

8 years of training before college and 4 more years of music education at a private college. And a total of 40 years of playing the piano/organ/keyboard; I've spent 27 of those years teaching piano and music theory and I have loved every minute of it!

I studied at an excellent Fine Arts University. I also played the piano around town. I saw a request for a piano instructor and took the job. I’ve continued teaching and love it.
All types. Students with all types of learning styles, various learning abilities, some with hyper active tendencies, some who were brilliant with their music. I have also helped students prepare for arts school auditions, and in Charleston 99% of my students were accepted into the program they applied for.
The personality and style of the teacher is key. Many parents have told me that they took lessons when young but stopped because they didn’t like their teacher. I always say, Don’t let the teacher be the hindrance to your child’s love of music. Find a different teacher that your student will enjoy.
