I like to meet the student and his/her parents before beginning tutoring or piano lessons so that the child will become familiar with me and feel comfortable with coming to piano lessons/tutoring. I have found this to be very effective and rewarding! It also gives me the chance to get to know the child and his/her interests and to be able to select materials that I believe the child will respond best to!

I charge $60 a month for piano lessons which includes a 30 minute lesson each week so the cost is $15 a lesson. I do tutoring sessions once a week and each session lasts one hour. The price for tutoring is $25 an hour.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and have been doing tutoring and piano lessons since I was in high school and now in the afternoons after teaching in public school. I have also played the piano since I was 3 years old and have a love for music!
I have worked with all types of students from students who are in gifted and talented programs, students who have a learning disability, students with ADHD, autism, etc. My motto is that every child can learn and I enjoy working with every child I teach!!
I am always fond of seeing my students succeed when they have been working very hard on a particular skill! This is super rewarding!!
The advice that I would give is to make sure that the teacher is highly qualified in her field and that he/she has a genuine love for teaching, his/her students, and seeing students love learning and to succeed!
I believe students should think through their interests and in what areas they want to grow, succeed, and excel in before talking to teachers about their needs!
