About
I have over 20 years teaching violin. I use a modified Suzuki style approach, meaning that young children begin learning by rote, working on technique on the instrument, then as they grow we introduce scaled, etudes and note reading. Older children and adults begin note reading from the start. I teach classics, hymns, and fiddle tunes and train students to participate in outreach, such as community events and senior facilities. I teach families how to make learning fun!
I love to get to know the families, and see them grow closer through music.

Melonie taught 3 of my grandchildren. She was an excellent teacher, very skilled at every level. The loved going for their lessons each week and all the children, mine and the others she was instructing at the time, progressed very well. We found her irreplaceable when a job opportunity moved her out of our city. She made lessons fun while sharpening their talent. She is very much missed here.
