About

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile.

Did you take piano lessons as a child and want your kids to share that same experience? Perhaps you didn't get a chance to learn when you were young and you're afraid you might be too old. Maybe you're just looking for a way to better yourself.

I have good news! It's definitely not too late!

I specialize in helping people of all ages discover the joy that comes from playing the piano.

I have been playing the piano for 30 years and teaching for more than 20 years. I have worked as a professional musician since 1997 after graduating with a degree in music from Wheaton College.

My aim is to help you reach your musical goals and to teach you in a way that you learn best.

Experience what it's like to take piano lessons online. All you need is a laptop or tablet with a webcam. Never worry again about having to leave your house, fight traffic, worry about bad weather, or snag a ride with your mom or dad.

You will also get access to a recording of your most recent lesson within a few hours after you finish. This makes it much easier for you to remember what I said during the week or to watch my fingering for a certain part of a song.

I guarantee you will not only become a better piano player but you will become a better musician overall.

Over the years, I've talked to parents who didn't sign their kids up for piano lessons because they were afraid they would get bored. Unfortunately, this is a reality with some teachers, but it's not for students who study with me!

Here are some of the things that bring me joy as I work with my students.

They are not clock-watchers. They don’t count down the seconds to when their practice session or lesson is over.

They happily walk over to the piano throughout the day.

Practice isn’t “practice” to them. It’s FUN. It’s recreation that brings a smile to their face.

Their music is more beautiful, dynamic, and moving than someone who is robotically practicing to put a check mark on their daily to-do list.

Ken was a phenomenal instructor for me when I took lessons as a young teenager. He is such a gifted pianist, yet he was always so patient with me as he taught me the basics. He creatively helped me to work through my insecurities and times of frustration. Plus, hes a lot of fun! I would recommend Ken to anyone in a heartbeat!

“My piano lessons with Ken gave me a greater understanding of the piano as a whole. They provided me with different techniques to widen my own style and skill set. Ken has a way of making the complex simple so anyone can learn and become great! I would definitely recommend him!”

I loved taking piano lessons with Ken. He was encouraging and direct as we studied both classical and contemporary pieces. Because of his familiarity with both styles, he taught me to have a well-rounded base from which I have been able to make my own compositions and learn new pieces quickly. He plays the piano with ease and is extremely knowledgeable.

Ken is a very knowledgeable, yet patient instructor. He is excellent in many styles of music, and really helped me take my understanding of theory and apply it to playing by ear. I was a music minor in college, so understood reading music, but was really lacking in understanding how to improvise and play chord charts with style. Kens teaching and mentorship really helped my ability move to the next level. I would highly recommend him for any level of lessons.

As a musician myself, I appreciate Kens musical abilities. Not only is he a very gifted musician and composer but he is also a gifted teacher. He teaches towards the students interest which keeps the student interested in learning and accomplishing more.

First of all I really love online piano lessons. Its been many years since Ive taken lessons, and certainly Ive not taken piano lessons in this method prior to having Mr. Reynolds as my teacher. This manner of teaching saves he and I quite a bit of time as neither of us have to leave our homes. He video records each lesson that I can easily access later to replay if I get stuck when I am practicing each week. I like the way Mr. Reynolds adapts my lessons and the pieces he introduces to me to my strengths, and then adds a challenge that he already believes I can accomplish. He is very patient, encouraging and kind, and does not load up each lesson with too many learning curves for me to grasp. I highly recommend him!

I started teaching piano during my college years. I had become the primary worship leader of my church. Because people heard me play each week, some of them began asking for lessons.

My students include young children who want to learn how to read music, teenagers who just want to learn to play songs from their favorite artists, and adults who want a little of everything.

Find someone who is experienced and can help you reach your goals.

Experience is important because it's pretty easy to learn bad habits when you are first starting. A good teacher will recognize these and help you to steer clear.

Regarding goals, some piano teachers only teach one way. A good piano teacher is constantly listening to their students in order to teach them in a way that is suitable for their learning style and overall goals.
