Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first voice lesson, we discuss why the student is taking voice lessons and what they would like to get out of taking lessons. We will discuss their past experience with music. We will do some simple warm ups and sing through a song so that the student can see what lessons will look like, and so that I can learn their voice!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been singing and performing since I was five years old. In highschool, I was classicaly trained. Then, I was a Commercial Voice major at Belmont University, and have been teaching voice lessons for nine years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30 Minute Lesson - $35 (first lesson $15)
60 Minute Lesson - $50 (first lesson $20)
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching voice lessons after I graduated college at a vocal studio that provides lessons focused on vocal technique and performance skills. I taught there for three years, maintaining about 25 students at a time, in addition to multiple vocal groups. Since then, I occassionally teach voice lessons from home for friends or someone a friend knows!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught commercial voice lessons and commercial vocal groups with students of varying experience levels, ages 4-40-years-old.
