About

Hello 👋 my name is Jamie Hardeman and I have been teaching violin for seven years. I studied violin and viola performance at Middle Tennessee State University, and received a BA with a music emphasis from Thomas Edison State University. I am a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas with registered training in violin books 1, 2, and 3. I have performed violin and viola in a variety of settings in Middle Tennessee, including weddings, street performances, musical theatre, and with the Nashville Praise Symphony.

Frequently asked questions

Typically I begin with the basics - setup, get-to-know-you questions, etc. If they are new to the violin, I'll have them begin with Suzuki Book 1, with an intention to add additional fun pieces as soon as possible.

I'm trained in the Suzuki violin method books 1-3 and am currently being trained in book 4.

Look for one who meshes with your learning style. The teacher could be great, but if they don't teach the way you learn, it probably won't work. Be specific and honest about your needs and your feedback.
