About

When it comes to lessons, it is important to me that each student has an individualized plan specific to them. No one is cookie cutter. Not everyone learns and grows the same. Everyone's journey is different and I want to make sure that each student meets their individual goals and progress at the rate that is right for them. It is important to make sure each student is having fun - not just meeting goals. Music is an art form and a blessing but it can also be difficult and challenging. Within that challenge, I hope to create fun and joy for my students as they progress. Quick overview of my accomplishments and trainging: I have been in the entertainment industry since the age of 4. I started working professionally at 9 years old and have performed on professional stages across the country since. I have had 20 years of vocal training myself in many styles. I have won numerous local, state, and national awards for voice and performance in competitions such as NATS, AACS, ODACS, Miss America Organization, and more. I attended Belmont Univeristy for Musical Theatre in their award winning BFA program. I have had the honor of playing roles such as Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Wednesday in The Addams Family, Jane in Tarzan, and more on equity stages across many states. I have been teaching mutiple outlets in the arts from dance, theatre, acting through song, and voice for collectively 9 years. Music and performing saved my life more than once. It has never just been something to do for me. It has been a way of life. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing someone else experience the happiness and thrill that music brings into your life. I love pouring into others and helping them achieve their personal and professional goals. When I see a student finally achieve and master that thing they have been working so hard on, it reminds me of how powerful the arts truly are. I love how universal music is and the connections you can make with it.

    Frequently asked questions

During an initial lesson, I like to have the student sing a song or a few that they already know and are comfortable. Throught this, I can get a pretty good assessment of where they are with their instrument. I then like to have conversation about why they want to take lessons and what their goals are in taking them. We then come up, together, with a plan we both think is good to achieve those goals. Once we are in the swing of things, lessons will look somewhere along the lines of a vocal warm up, review of current songs in student's book, work and hone in on those songs and technique used in them, assignment of new songs/work.
