Mr. Jiazhi Zhang hold B.M. from Texas Christian University and M.M. from University of Texas at Austin. A native from China, Mr. Zhang start learning violin at age of 4. He came to Texas Christian University under full scholarship. During his undergraduate study, Mr. Zhang performed at Buenos Aires, and Rosario in Argentina; and Bass Hall at Fort Worth with the TCU Symphony Orchestra. He is also a Dean’s List award recipient at TCU College of Fine Arts. In his graduate study at UT, Mr. Zhang was awarded the David and Mary Winton Green Chair Scholarship. Mr. Zhang played in various master classes such as Biguel Harth-Bedoya, Alex Carr and Karen Gomyo. He is also an active solo violinist in well-known music festivals namely National Orchestra Institute+Festival and Starling-Delay Symposium on Violin Studies at Juilliard School. Mr. Zhang love to join the orchestra while in school, he has played as associate principle at Temple Symphony Orchestra and San Angelo Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Zhang had a long experience with violin padegogy. He began to giving violin lessons in undergraduate study and became an instructor at Orpheus Music Academy in Austin and CreativeSoul Academy of Music in Fort Worth. His teaching philosophy include using Suzuki method of violin pedagogy and project beautiful sound on violin. Currently Mr. Zhang is pursing his doctoral degree in violin performance at University of North Texas.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All the kids and adult students I have taught they all finish with good posture and sound making. They also find the ture love through practicing a variety of violin piece.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As I started playing violin since 4 years old, I know how it feels for kids or adults to learn music. I came to the US in 2012 and received my Bachlor of Music degree in 2016 and Master of Music in 2018. I am pursuing Doctor of Musical Arts degree now. I never stoped learning and playing the violin in my entire lifetime, I treat violin as part of my daily life
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually I would charge $30 for 30 minutes lesson; and $55 for 1 hour.
How did you get started teaching?
As a violinist, I always expand my vision in both solo performances and pedagogy. In my opinion, a good musician need to have the capability in acquiring music knowledge and transmit what in their brain to other peaple. Besides, I love getting around with people who love and play music.
What types of students have you worked with?
So far I taught kids from 4-16 years old and adult students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
People often like to find the most suitable teacher.Before making that decision, ask yourself what and how I would like to learn from this person. Does he or she able to help me in a way that is acceptable to achieve my future goal.
