About

Michelle Moslemi-Haché is a Kurdish-American director, performer, and vocal instructor with over eighteen years of professional experience in musical theatre and vocal pedagogy. Her areas of specialization include contemporary musical theatre, crossover techniques, contemporary commercial music (CCM), and classical voice. She earned a Graduate Diploma from The Juilliard School and holds a Master of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University.

Ms. Haché has served as Head of Musical Theatre at the University of South Carolina School of Music and has held faculty appointments as Director of Opera and Musical Theatre and Assistant Professor of Voice at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, as well as Lecturer of Applied Voice at Texas State University. She has also contributed to the field as a reviewer for The Austin Chronicle and as a national adjudicator for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and Hal Leonard Vocal Competitions.

In addition to her academic appointments, Ms. Moslemi-Haché has extensive experience in student mentorship and audition preparation for both musical theatre and classical voice programs. Her students have been admitted to nationally recognized conservatories and young artist programs and have received scholarships, competitive awards, and professional performance opportunities in theatre, film, and national tours. She developed the University of South Carolina Summer Musical Theatre Intensive and has served as artistic director for Gilbert & Sullivan Austin and Austin Summer Musical for Children.

Her work as a director and performer has been recognized with multiple B. Iden Payne Award nominations and honors, including awards for directing musical theatre productions. As a performer, her dramatic soprano voice is represented on recordings spanning musical theatre, classical repertoire, and classical fusion. Certified in Meisner in Music, she offers lectures and workshops on crossover pedagogy and contemporary musical theatre industry practices at regional and national conferences.

Ms. Haché is an active member of The Juilliard Teacher Directory, the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance (MTEA), and the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC).
