About
I have been teaching my students to play the piano, music theory and music history for more than 30 years, using the Traditional and Suzuki methods for students of various ages. My lessons are delivered with a great passion for music and a great wish to instill that passion and the joy of music in my students. I choose a program of study individually, in accordance with your wishes and goals, so you can become an advanced amateur or a professional musician or music teacher.
My students have opportunities to participate in Theory and World of Music tests.
Many of my students excel in these events and receive awards.
In addition, my students may take master classes with leading American teachers.
I always have a few adults, who can finally make their dream of music come true.
For several years I successfully directed a music studio in Russia. My Houston studio has operated successfully for more than 15 years.
My memberships include: The National Piano Guild Society, American College of Musicians, Cypress Creek Music Teachers Association, and Houston Area Suzuki Piano Association.
My professional activities are:
- Chairman of CCMTA,
- Master Classes’ Chairman of Houston Suzuki Association,
- Judge of National Piano Guild Auditions, American College of Musicians.
I am a recognized member of the National Honor Roll of Guild Teachers.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have a curiculum for teaching process. It's a mix of Suzuki method with traditional methods of teaching. I Use the materials recomended by Suzuki assiciation of Americas, The method books of Faber and Faber for reading and theory, Theory time, Books of sight reading for my beginners. Student will get 1 privite lesson a week, 30 minutes or 45 minutes lesson according to specific needs of individual student situation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kuybishev State University of Former Soviet republics, Music and Pedagogy department. Bachelor degree in pedagogy and master degree in piano performance.

$35 for 30 minute lesson, $45 for 45 minute lesson, $60 for hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started my teaching yet in Russia, Former Soviet union as a Piano teacher in prestigious public school #22 of City Kuybishev later renamed to Samara. It was more then 25 years ago. Since then I am working on improving my knolege as a piano teacher. When my family has immigrated to USA I learned Suzuki method, received my teacher traning sertificates for all 7 Suzuki piano books... I have my own piano Studio.
What types of students have you worked with?
Early beginners to University level. I prefer to have a dedicated, hard working student who will have a great interest it learning piano. I always accept students from age 6 years old including dedicated to piano learning adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I like to do 2 recitals of my studio students each year, to send students to many CCMTA events, including 2 Festivals a year, Theory tests, TMTA Ensamble for Texas music teacher conventions. My students participate in annual Guild auditions of American College of Musicians.CCMTA piano contest.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for teacher with higher degree of music aducation and greater experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Will my teacher be able to teach me to read, play by ear, teach me a theory, technic of music and keep me interested, motivated all the time of my learning ?
