Heather Voice Instructor
About
Music is everything to me. It's been my purpose and calling for as long as I can remember. I started singing when I was 4 years old in church. When I was about 11 years old I discovered I could sing opera. I am an alum of the Houston Highschool for the Performing and Visual Arts.
I attended Oklahoma City University where I received my undergrad and master's degree in Opera Performance and Musical Theater.
I lived in NYC for 6 years and traveled to over 35 European countries while singing/performing to thousands of audiences. It was a dream come true!
Now I have made a home return back to Houston (where it all began). I am currently a band instructor and voice teacher at the School of Rock while transitioning to be a full-time teacher. I have always had students while studying my singing craft. Past students have called me a "voice technician" and can help find "meaning behind the lyrics" type instructor.
Don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in singing your favorite tunes while working on proper breath control, support, vocal exercises, and stylizing in your songs.......... A section of your song needs a little extra love to solidify pitch, timing, and vowel modifications? Audition preparations of 16-32 bar song cuts? I got you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Considering the goal of the student and their experience level, the initial lessons would be a simple observation of the voice type and singing abilities. I'd assign vocal exercises/techniques to strengthen your voice and support. We would find ways to make your songs feel effortless and fun!
