If you match most or all of these things listed below, then I'm the perfect guitar teacher for you: -You are interested in playing "rock" based styles of music. This includes blues, acoustic singer songwriter-y type stuff, classic rock, alternative, grunge, hard rock, and metal. I do not teach jazz or classical. -You want a guitar teacher who teaches you based on your goals and challenges.  I don't teach from a "method book" where every student gets the EXACT same lessons in the same order. Learning guitar doesn't work that way. Every student has different interests and challenges & their lesson plan needs to be specific and uniqu ... View Profile

I have been singing and teaching for over 30 years both professionally and for my own enjoyment. Singing is my passion, it is what I do. I have found that teaching someone to enjoy and express themselves through music is perhaps one of the most rewarding things I do. I was very fortunate to have as my teacher, someone who believed in passing on his knowledge and understanding of what it takes to be a great singer. Little did I know at the time but he was training me to pass on his legacy and it has been my great honor to do so. ... View Profile

My teaching approach: Lessons are customized for each student. Beginners learn basic songs with easy chords to build coordination and timing, then students recommend songs THEY want to learn. Advanced songs, ear training, and music theory then go with the teaching of the songs they enjoy. Whether it is guitar, piano, bass, or banjo, we will have fun and you will learn to play. My influences are: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Joe Walsh, and MANY more. Here's an example of how I teach on guitar. Piano, bass, and banjo are similar. Take a look. Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning ... View Profile

My teaching approach: I tailor my lessons to fit the students goals. Beginner students want to learn songs, not theory. So I get the student playing /singing before I focus on scales and theory. I want to teach the student what they want to learn as well as giving them the skills to be a good musician/vocalist. I also determine what your learning style is, so that I can effectively teach you. I have over 14 years teaching experience in guitar and voice, and I teach songwriting and ukulele as well.  I've been performing locally and internationally for over 7 years. My influences are: The Beatles, the Killers, Patty Griffin, Ray LaMontagne ... View Profile

I am one of only a few teachers that I know of in this area who is trained in the Suzuki method of talent education. Using this method, I teach beginning students to play by listening and imitating initially, before we learn to read notes. This allows the student to concentrate on the physical aspects of playing the violin, and develops their ear for music right away, with regard to good tone, intonation, and rhythm. And....it's fun! I have many years of experience in teaching students at all levels, helping them reach their highest potential. In addition, I'm a professional player in the Dallas Opera Orchestra, among other groups, so there's ... View Profile
