About
I have played the violin for 22 years and began teaching private lessons in 2015. I teach students using the Susuki method and other traditional violin techniques, all in a relaxed, fun-spirited teaching environment that will encourage students to want to practice and imptove their own skills.
I love teaching all ages the joy that violin and reading music can bring! It's always a rewarding experience to see when students learn their first song and progress over time! It's also a wonderful experience for my students, to push themselves further.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With beginner students, I will take the time to teach students about each aspect of the violin and their function before teaching students how to properly hold the bow and violin. We start off only learning proper posture and positioning before we begin playing notes and reading music!
For intermediate students, I will see where they're currently at before deciding what we need to start working on together!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught for almost 5 years and have been playing the violin for 20 years. Over the years, I was in numerous orchestras and competed at numerous district and state competitions. I was also first chair throughout my years in middle school and high school.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I offer the following below, but can customize the price if you would like to increase the lesson time for over an hour.
$25 / 30 minutes
$45 / hour
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching after highschool as a part time job while I studied at a local college. I taught students of all ages for years before moving out of state to complete school. Now I'm back and am accepting students again!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 5 and up. I accept all ages but recommend that children begin learning at around 5-6 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Sadly due to covid, I cannot think of anything right now!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would make sure the teacher and student are a right fit. Some teachers are more strict and stern than others for example. However, I aim to teach using fun, yet traditional methods while offering students a relaxed learning environment.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Definitely think about where you aim to purchase or rent your violin, and always ask the teacher for advice if needed. Make sure you discuss with the teacher about all required materials that are needed before the lesson!
