Kathy H. says, "I've been a student of Conrad's for over two years, starting at the level of an adult beginner. Conrad's patience, knowledge and teaching style is something I adapted to immediately and it has aided me to move to higher levels. He can connect with his students on the most elementary level while also challenging his advanced students to grow and perfect their art. In fact, I referred him on several occasions and will continue to do so as well as I will continue take lessons to grow in the art of piano!" Read more

Vanda M. says, " The teacher I've hired is Emmanuel. He's very knowledgeable and professional. He tailors the lesson specifically for you, how you learn, and is always encouraging and uplifting. I myself am a little slower at learning but he doesn't make me feel embarrassed, or intimidated instead If I don't get something he explains it in a way that I understand in a positive way and rejoices in every accomplishment. So I always leave knowing what I've been taught and feel confident. You will not find quality and knowledge like they offer here anywhere else with the prices they offer. Do Not miss this great opportunity. I definitely recommend Solace Music School! šŸŽ¼šŸŽµšŸŽøšŸŽ¹šŸŽ™ļøšŸŽ¶šŸ™ŒšŸ˜€ Also to the students it is our job to practice what our teacher teaches us, and if we truly don't get something speak up. ā˜ŗļø If we don't practice everyday we will see small improvements if any, but if we practice everyday we will learn much more and progress at a faster pace. However I also know that with the right teacher you can and will accomplish and progress so much more and faster than other teachers. I'm glad I found Solace Music School! I'm sure you will be glad too. :) " Read more

How much are piano lessons?

Piano lessons cost $40 to $80 per hour, depending on the location, their experience level, and session length. A piano lesson package costsĀ $180 to $350Ā for five 1-hour lessons. Children's piano lessons and online lessons often cost less than average.

Piano lessons are available for all ages in most cities in the country. Music instructors teach:

  • Music theory
  • Sight-reading
  • Improvisation
  • How to improve playing or technique

At what age should you start piano lessons?

The best age to start piano lessons is 5 to 9 years, though learning how to play the piano doesn't have an age limit. Playing the piano strengthens fine motor skills, increases flexibility, and improves your memory no matter how old you are.

Are piano lessons worth it?

Piano lessons are worth the money and effort invested over time. Playing an instrument can be beneficial for mental health, and cognitive strength. For smaller budgets, book just a few lessons to get the basics down and continue on your own.

How long are piano lessons?

Piano lessons for beginners or children are typically 30 to 45 minutes per session. Intermediate or advanced lessons are 45 to 60+ minutes per session. Most people have 1 to 2 lessons per week.

Can you learn to play piano online?

How do I select a piano teacher?

Start by searching our list of piano teachers, then:

  • Get at least three free estimates to compare.
  • Read reviews on Lessons and Google if possible.
  • Ask for references from current or recent students.
  • Make sure they are kind and personable, especially when with children.
  • Get a written estimate and schedule before the first lesson.
  • Avoid making a large payment up front. Follow a payment plan instead.

After asking questions and browsing reviews, hire the best piano instructor in your area.

What questions should I ask piano instructors?

When hiring piano teachers near you, ask the following questions:

  • How long have you been teaching piano?
  • Do you have a degree in music?
  • What age do you typically teach?
  • What genre of piano do you specialize in?
  • Will you give me a contract or payment arrangement in writing?
  • Will you allow me to choose some or all of the songs we practice?

As a total beginner....Conrad was patient and encouraging and that set a great tone for me. He provided a safe place when it feels awkward and self conscious as a beginner.

Mr. Dang was the piano teacher for both my kids and they learnt piano from him for at least 10 years each and they loved it. Although school and other activities did not permit them to continue but Mr. Dang's teaching has had a long lasting effect on them. They still play and it is surprising to see how quickly they learn new musical-pieces/songs. That is where Mr. Dang's teaching comes in - absolutely a brilliant teacher, always encouraging and excellent with kids of all age. Mr. Dang has immense patience, a good listener and a splendid person to talk to. The kids used to look forward to the piano class. Mr. Dang himself is a very accomplished pianist and he has the very talented art of imparting his knowledge to his students. My brief stays during their classes with Mr. Dang encouraged me to become a student of him for a brief period of time, but with no fault of his, I had to quit (fat fingers). The point is Mr. Dang encourages people to learn at their own comfortable pace, there is no pressure and he always finds ways to bring about a positive feeling no matter the student's learning ability. Without any hesitation I will recommend Mr. Dang and if the kids or even I, ever go back to piano it would be to none other than our favorite pianist - Mr. Dang. Mr. Dang thanks for your time, patience, excellent guidance. and also continuous enthusiasm. Kids could not have been where they are today, not just as pianists, but as good human beings, without your positive influence. many thanks and regards (Shree and Abhishu)'s Dad Mr. Mukherjee

Sarah has a wonderful way of understanding what motivates my daughter in her lessons. She encourages her to create her own pieces and fosters her creativity, while always keeping her focused. Having piano lessons has been an incredibly positive experience for my neuro diverse kiddo and we have been beyond impressed with Sarah's patience, knowledge, and skill. Taking lessons with Sarah has been an essential part of my daughter's education, providing her with structure and self expression that has really helped her feel like music is part of her identity. It's a beautiful thing! I highly recommend Sarah, she is simply the best.
