About
Every student is unique, so I believe in highly personalized lesson plans. In our first session together, you'll tell me what you want to get out of taking lessons. Then, we'll jump right in, and get moving! To wrap up, we'll make a few notes about what we've covered, a quick video for your reference, and I'll give you some tips on what and how to practice. We will also decide together what to work on for our next lesson. As we progress, we will learn new patterns, concepts, techniques, musicality, and social dance etiquette based on your evolving goals. And we'll have a whole lot of fun!!
I'm equally as passionate about the process of learning as I am the outcome. I have been a pro dance instructor for over 10 years, but beginners are my bread and butter! Learning to dance was the best thing I ever did for myself, and I love sharing that joy with others! I enjoyed 7 years as an instructor at Go Dance in Austin and 3 at Arthur Murray in San Antonio, teaching both private and group lessons in-studio, as well as in night clubs and at special events (corporate, weddings, parties). I have competed in American Ballroom and teach around 30 different dances, including Country, Swing, Ballroom, and Latin. I am certified by Dance Vision International Dance Association and Move Like a Champion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I make a practice of meeting people where they are. I will assess your current abilities and go from there, moving at a pace that is comfortable and fun while progressing as quickly as possible. I welcome all feedback and will often check in to ensure you are getting exactly what you want out of the process.

What types of students have you worked with?
I work with both couples and individuals. You do not need a partner to learn to dance!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find an instructor that will individualize a plan just for you! No two people start dancing for the same reasons, so make sure your instructor is willing to give you what YOU want to get out of lessons, not just what THEY want to give you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I want to learn to social dance or enter competitions?
