About

I’m Ksenia — an artist and creative mentor based in Houston’s Museum District with 12+ years of experience working with adult students.

My lessons focus on expressive and intuitive art — helping adults discover or deepen their creative voice through painting, mixed media, and personal artistic exploration. No previous experience needed. My approach is therapeutic, pressure-free, and deeply personalized to where you are in your creative journey.

Each session is guided but never rigid. We work with what moves you — color, form, emotion, expression. Students often describe lessons as both grounding and liberating.

I also incorporate elements of music and movement when relevant, creating a full sensory creative experience.

Sessions available virtually or in-studio in Houston’s Museum District. I teach in English and Russian.

    Frequently asked questions

I begin with a short conversation to understand your goals, experience level, and what draws you to art or music at this moment in your life. During the first lesson, I observe your natural strengths, rhythm, and comfort level. From there, I design a personalized approach that balances technical foundation with creative expression. My goal is not just skill development, but helping you feel confident, focused, and inspired in the process.
I began studying piano at the age of six and received formal musical education in Russia. After moving to the United States, I completed Suzuki Method training and continued developing my teaching practice. My academic background includes studies in architecture and a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), which strengthened my structural thinking, design sensitivity, and ability to create clear, personalized learning systems. In addition to my formal training, I have developed my visual art practice over many years through professional work, exhibitions, and ongoing study.
Yes. I offer private lessons and small group sessions. Pricing varies depending on lesson length and format (private, semi-private, or group). I am happy to share current rates during our initial conversation to ensure we choose the option that best fits your goals. Please reach out directly for details and availability. Email: [email protected] or text: +1 (713) 364-3466
I began teaching after years of formal training in arts and piano. What started as helping a few students grew naturally into a long-term practice. Over time, I developed my own approach that blends classical structure (including Suzuki philosophy) with creative exploration and emotional expression through art and music. Teaching became not just instruction — but mentorship.
I work with children (3+) and adults of all experience levels. Many of my adult students are returning to creativity after years away from it, or beginning for the first time. I also work with individuals who want a calm, focused, and private learning environment.
One of my favorite recent events was a “Visuals of Music” concert experience. Students performed piano pieces while my artwork — inspired by those same compositions — was displayed. It beautifully demonstrated how music and visual art are deeply connected. It was both intimate and powerful. You can see a part of it following the link below: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CI32tUUpaiu/?igshid=5obpcow297cc
Schedule an introductory meeting. Observe the space. Notice how you feel in the teacher’s presence. A good teacher should make you feel both supported and gently challenged. The right environment matters as much as the curriculum.
    • What are my goals — skill development, relaxation, creative exploration, performance? • How much time can I realistically commit to practice? • Do I prefer structured guidance or flexible creative direction? • Am I looking for private instruction or small group sessions? Clarity helps us build the right path from the beginning.
