Dilan Selek / Trombonist

Dilan Selek is a professional trombonist. She has worked with many major orchestras in her hometown of İstanbul, Turkey and has over 30 years of experience. She has toured and performed with the İstanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra since 2000 and was their principal trombonist from the 2005 - 2021 seasons. She was a co-founder and player of the Chamber Music Orchestra which goes by the name Brassolist. She has also worked with The İstanbul Cinema Symphony Orchestra in the position of principal trombonist, Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra, and Cemal Resit Rey Symphony Orchestra as the bass and second trombone. She moved to Houston, Texas in 2018 with her husband and two daughters and has been working with the local orchestras. She still continues to play as a chamber musician and soloist. Her other passion is ethnic Turkish pop, which she does with her new band that she founded in 2021; Nova Band Texas. Nova Band Texas has had many concerts for the American Turkish Association. Her teaching mainly focuses on beginning to intermediate trombone players, advancing the capability of musicians.
