Muaythai Institute - Texas
About
MTI-Texas is one of only four global branches authorized by the Muaythai Institute (headquartered in Thailand) to teach the art and sport of Muaythai. Additionally, it is one of the longest operating auhentic Muaythai schools in the State of Texas.
Since it's founding in 2003, MTI-Texas has helped prepare and train officers of several Police Departments, their S.W.A.T. teams, County Sheriff's Departments, Texas DPS, US National Guard, US Border Patrol, US Marshals, and US Military--individuals entrusted to protect and serve Our Community, State, and Country.
We have enjoyed success in top level international amateur and professional competitive events but our curriculum and training program focuses on developing students all ages for Physical Fitness and Self Defense and not just for sport.
Whether in or out of the ring, join us and see why MTI-Texas is the Battle Tested home for MuayThai in Texas!
I enjoy being able to help students achieve their personal goals and become confident, yet respectful and positive individuals in their daily lives.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after retiring from my professional career to continue teaching the art and sport of Muay Thai and share the benefits that improve one's mind, body, and spirit.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, needs, and goals.
Students have ranged from professional competitors, to teachers and lawyers, to children and people looking to improve their physical well being.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of our team being chosen to participate in the 2014 Martial Arts Expo held by the University of Texas - Pan American.
The event showcased different styles of Martial Arts and gave our school the opportunity to show the special cultural and physical attributes directly related to the art and sport of Muay Thai.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the instructor is properly certified to teach Muay Thai by a proper governing body.
Not all athletes are good coaches. A former athlete who truly cares about his/her development and career as a reputable coach will always seek proper certification from the proper governing body for the art and sport of Muay Thai. (Since Muay Thai is a National Treasure of the Kingdom of Thailand, instructor certification takes place in Thailand.)
