I am an experienced teacher with over 12 years of teaching experience. I have 20 years of piano playing experience and 18 on violin. I teach orchestra at a local school district as well as teach private lessons daily at a music studio. I perform regularly in two orchestras and have experience in playing in small group settings. I have experience teaching multiple styles and have a degree in music education. I feel I will able to help you achieve your musical goals very efficiently and a high level.
Seeing students achieve success in achieving their goals. I enjoy having students discovering their musical potential and finding the joy of creating music.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have students start off with playing what they know and then coming up with an individual plan based on their personal goals. We come up with a warm-up that addresses an technical deficiency and and pick repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained in the Yamaha method and have a music education background as well as training is music performance.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching since I was in high school and have been private teaching since starting a formal education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of every age from beginner to very advanced. I have worked with students with special needs and handicaps.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been fortunate to watch students perform in region concerts and all- state performances.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get a trial lesson first, be open to new ideas, be curious, and enjoy the experience of learning.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your musical goals? Why are you interested in making music? Who are you doing it for? How much time are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goal?
