What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Viloin - teach student parts of the instrument, correct hand positions, and care for the instrument. Assess level in reading treble clef and how to play notes on the fiddle, beginning with 1st position. Tech how to shift, teach how to practice vibrato, teach good bow control. Encourage student in good pactice techniques.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Two years of music education with major in violin performance at the Univeristy of Houston under Fredell Lack.
