What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We talk about the goals for the swimmer, and check their current skill levels. The process for each stroke, skills, or goal is simple. We break everything down to the basic componnents of swimming and rebuild strong skills, good habits, and a lifetime enjoyable swimming.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
American Red Cross, and USA Swimming trained coaches.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our classes are a-la-carte style. You pay for what you use. We do offer price breaks when you pre-pay for class packs.
How did you get started teaching?
I learned how to swim at a young age. I taugh my kids when they were young. I teach to share my love of swimming.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with all ages, abilities, and needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We witness small miracles everyday. We see kids that used to cry when they came near a pool, ask their mom if they can jump into the deep one more time before the end of class. That's awesome!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Learning any new skill can be daunting. Students need someone who cares enough to say "no, do that again."
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask anything. The instructor knows how to swim, these lessons are for you!
