I enjoy teaching a variety of styles, using elements of classical, pop, even jazz or rock to develop a students’ skills. If the student has interest in a specific style, I’m happy to focus on that style. Whatever keeps the student engaged and learning efficiently!

Kera has a wide range of expertise, and she’s very casual, so when taking a lesson with her, it doesn’t feel like you’re talking to someone who’s overqualified and who uses too many complicated terms. I’ve taken a couple lessons with her and she’s been very good at figuring out exactly why I struggle so much when singing and suggestions on how to fix it. She’s given me simple tools to use for fixing my problems, and I’m still working on it, but these have helped as I practice with them. I highly recommend that you consider Kera.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to spend some time in the first lesson learning about your experience and goals. I'll ask a few questions usually, and maybe ask the student to play/sing something so I can get idea of where they're at.

I started teaching at a school in Austin in 2018 when they were seeking teachers for a new location. I had recently graduated from ACC and was seeking a job in my field. Teaching music lessons was the perfect opportunity!

I have worked with students ages 3-65 and with many styles including jazz, pop, rock, classical hip hop/electronic.

What type of music do you want to learn?
How long have you been playing/ what's your experience Level?
