About
Hello prospective students and parents! My name is Edina Pastyik, I am the principal violinist of The European Ensemble String Quartet in Dallas TX and I successfully manage my own violin/viola studio in my home office in far north Dallas. I received the highest education at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest and received an Artist Certificate at SMU - a prestigious private university in Dallas. At the quartet, we constantly need to learn new music and play under pressure, so I can give practical advice to students on how to learn something quickly and perform it - besides the regular systematic teaching that takes time.
I am playing with local Symphonies - often as a concertmaster -, so I am actively in the music blood steam in Dallas.
I perform and I also teach privately in my well-equipped home studio that is located at G.Bush Turnpike and Preston road intersection. I teach beginners, advanced players, and adults who just want to make beautiful music for fun, no pressure.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I provide lessons based on the student's needs. If you are preparing for a chair test in school, I know what to do. If you are a beginner, I use a combined method to put you on a fast track learning. If you are an adult and just seeking to make some gorgeous music and take it easy, we can do that too.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have the highest education in violin teaching and violin performance. I own my own string quartet here in Dallas, so "I practice what I preach".
