FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I will travel to the student's house.  I will ask the student what they are wanting to make and show them all the possible choices they have in making jewelry.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taken some community ckasses regarding the basics of jewelry making. Over the years my daughter and I have designed our own pieces.  Using various beads and mediums.  We buy books on various types of craft projects to keep up with the latest trends people are wearing.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Prices vary depending on what beads the students wants to use.  Starting at $25.00 and going up from there.

How did you get started teaching?

I am a certified special education / homebound teacher for my school district.  I have given lessons to my daughters 4H crafting projects. Have talked to people at Hobby Lobby and Michaels a long with other from trade shows who have questions regarding jewelry making.

What types of students have you worked with?

Mostly young teen and older adults.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We just attended one if the bead trade shows in San Antonio, to purchase beads and finding to start making products for our up coming Christmas shows later in the year.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I have a lot of experience working with beads and other crafts.  I am happy to help you with any craft projects you have.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What type of beads or themes they are trying to make.  How much would all this cost me.   How much time us needed in completing the project. What tools are needed when working with beads.  These are just a few of the questions.  I know there are times most people do not realize the price of beads and how much time is needed.
