About

My studio stands out in a specific way. I have done continuing education in Vocal Pathology and speech therapy. Many vocalists have problems that are in their normal everyday speech. Also, I use diaphragmatic breathing as the primary technique which is rooted in classical. However, I can teach you to use proper technique in contemporary styles. Because of my own personal performance experience I have sung in these style and understand how technique needs to be molded to perform those styles , but have them sound not like you are singing classically.

I absolul Love watching students get excited because they are understanding how their instrument works and are learning tools that will consistently fix their issues such as breathing , phonation with vowels/consonance, tongue placement and many more things.

Before I began teaching I had had 14 years of Vocal Technique  at UTSA under the Voice Performance  Degree and studied with Linda Poetschke.

I began teaching in 1998 and have been on the vocal staff and many high schools in NISD, NEISD, East Central.  I started my outside studio which focused on using proper technique rooted in Classical and applying it to contemporary.  This teaching style is tricky because as the teacher...you have to have performed these styles to teach someone else.  The styles I have sung are: Classical, Opera, Musical Theater, Pop, R&B, Soul, Jazz, ancient music.
