Monica Kiss is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. Born and raised into a conservative Christian home, she began her music career at the age of twelve playing clarinet in junior high school. After suffering a knee injury her freshman year in high school and unable to participate in marching band, she chose to participate in choir as an alternative. This choice led her to discover her gift for voice. At the age of fourteen, she began studying classical voice formally.
Ms. Kiss earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Texas State University with an All-Level Teaching Certification from the State of Texas. She has over twenty-four years of voice training specializing in classical voice and has had performance experiences in opera theatre with Texas State University, the University of Memphis, Memphis Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Opera Memphis, as well as having conducted and performed with the Cornerstone Sanctuary Choir in San Antonio, TX.
Teaching is her passion and it gives her great joy to see the "lightbulb" come on in a student's eyes when a concept is finally grasped. Report with her students is very important to Ms. Kiss since it is essential to the learning experience of the student. Lessons are student centered as learning levels of each student vary.
Currently, Ms. Kiss devotes her time and talents to her students through private vocal instruction.
