About this pro

My very first job I ever had was teaching kids theatre and art skills. Now I am a nanny watching three wonderful children who also loves to be in the water any other time! I have been teaching swim lessons for over 4 years now focusing on fear of water swimmers and those trying to improve or learn the strokes. I have taught from the ages of 6 months to 15 years old and I love every minute of it! I believe in having a balance of structure to learn the skills and fun to establish a love and trust for the water.

Ariel is absolutely wonderful. She currently watches my three children and also has given them swim lessons from time to time. With whatever she does Ariel is a blessing and anyone would be lucky to have her as a teacher!

Ariel helped my son get comfortable in the water. He started out barely being able to put his eyes under and now we have a hard time getting him out of the pool!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My process differs depending on the skill level of the child. If they are a beginner and they are afraid of the water, my focus is safety and comfortbility. I watch for clues to make sure the child knows they can trust me and the water. For more skilled students I typically direct to perfect skills and form and or anything the swimmer wants to improve on.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am CPR certified and was also a swimmer in college.
