Rochelle F. says, "Dear Sir or Madam,
I have known Laneigha Shuman for seventeen years, seven of which I studied piano and music theory under her direction and teaching. As a teacher, Laneigha excelled at teaching children. Though she also taught adults, her passion was with the children she taught. Her ability to connect with children and make the learning experience fun is superior.
As her student, I remember her being very patient and kind when I did not understand theory or play to the best of my ability. She was always positive and encouraging. I cannot remember a negative word during her lessons and I always left feeling good and accomplished. As a child with learning disabilities, that meant the world to me. She always took great care in giving her students individualized lessons plans based on their abilities. As a slower learning student she was able to recognize my strengths and weaknesses and cater to those needs and help me focus. She also taught very young children all the way up to adult-aged students, all with their own learning curves and personalized lessons.
Throughout my piano lessons with Laneigha I was awarded multiple trophies, medals, and ribbons in State competitions. Because of her teachings, positivity, and encouragement I went on to excel in music and became a Drum Major of Duncan High School band in 2004 and 2005. I also credit Laneigha for my success as a professional adult. Because of her extraordinary teaching technique, positivity and encouragement I continued my education and despite any learning deficits, I graduated Nursing school and have become a successful nurse.
I believe her skills, experience, and passion for teaching children make her an excellent candidate for a music teacher at your school and believe your students will excel under her direction and teaching.
I recommend Laneigha to you without reservation. If you have any further questions with regard to her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Rochelle Facundo
