About

I really know what I'm doing!! It is my goal to get you singing at your best - freeing your unique voice from tension and allowing you to express yourself through your singing. Whether you want to sing professionally, as I did for many years, or join a choir or group, get the lead in a musical, or make a recording, I can help you do it.

Our work together may begin with teaching you how to sing, using breath support and control, releasing tension and addressing misinformation and vocal habits that don't serve you. Or, if you already have a degree, and/or are performing, we will address the particular issues keeping you from technical and artistic mastery.

I have a Bachelor and Master degree in Voice Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. I did post graduate work at Juilliard in New York. I won second in the International Americal Music Competition at Carnegie Hall and then began my career at New York City Opera. I've sung professionally on every continent except Antarctica - although I have visited there!

I sang Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera for three years, among other Broadway credits.

My voice can be heard on movie soundtracks and I have performed as a singer on everything from soap operas to award winning films.

What I can do for YOU is what I am about now!

I just love it when students realize that it is easy to sing well and hard to sing badly. I love the breakthrough moments when it just clicks - you understand and it is yours then forever. It is a patient process, it takes time and work, but it is so worth it to be able to pass on to others that which has been my life's work.

I LOVE working with Diana Walker Neve. She is such a great technician and I get many compliments on my voice, including my own after listening to how I have improved. ;-) She is a wonderful friend, and has the ability and commitment to free the voice, helping you become aware of the things you are doing that prevent your best sound from coming out. I highly recommend her!

Frequently asked questions

I can text or speak on the phone to set up the first lesson or consultation.  I invite them to bring what music they are working on or interested in, and maybe to sing something they know.

I ask students to record their lessons on their phones so they can hear the difference immediately, at the first lesson.  Also, they can listen and review the new information which is very helpful and important.
