Key Lime Piano Studio is designed to develop the whole musician through competency, creativity and collaboration.
Students spend 30 minutes in a private lesson with a highly qualified teacher focusing on repertoire and technique, and 30 minutes in lab working on scales, theory, ear training and sight reading, as well as 30 minutes in a group of four similarly leveled students learning improvisation, harmonization, arranging, composing and ensembles.
We love to see the look of confidence on a student’s face as they master a new passage or piece. This competency builds their confidence and motivation to work harder.
Students become musicians by learning how to take the notes on the page and create beautiful music with them. Our highly trained teachers customize their time with each student to coach and nurture the budding musician, empowering them with good technique so they can be expressive with their music.
Students belong to a team of four similarly leveled students that make music together each week, learning ensemble pieces, improvisation, composition and how to read chord charts. They develop a sense of community and belonging that is unique and powerful in the piano lesson experience.
I love seeing kids develop into musicians! We enjoy music at every lesson. We play lots of different music, and try out different genres. When a student hears a new song and jumps out of their seat saying "I want to learn that!" and then helping them play it is so rewarding!
Being a part of kids learning how to make their own music is especially exciting!
