Katy Stephenson completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin perormance in violin performance and pedagogy from the University of Utah, a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Science in Music from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She was a concerto competition winner at MSU and BYU-Idaho. In addition to teaching, she also does some freelance performing and recording and has been teaching violin lessons for 15 years. Katy strives to maintain a nurturing learning environment while encouraging students to get beyond their comfort zones to become the best they are capable of becoming. Her goal is to help students reach their musical goals and potential and also to become hard-working and conscientious individuals who care about what they do, whatever their chosen paths in life.
