Salisbury Piano Lessons
About
I am a semiretired piano teacher. I have been an engineer, a landlord, a photographer, but have also always loved music, and 5 years ago decided to commit myself to teaching piano. I have played since age 8, and also played clarinet in junior high, and high school, and also was church organist twice, but have always come back to the instrument I love most, the piano. My lessons are designed to make learning fun. I use the Faber series of piano instruction books, which are loaded, right from the beginning with duets. Duets make a student learn rhythm, as duets obviously don't work at all, if both student and teacher aren't together on the beat. My students do love music too. I started writing music 3 years ago, and in describing the fun I was having in composing music, a couple of my students have done likewise, and written some amazing songs. I recorded 12 of my songs onto a CD, and have actually sold nearly 350 of those going mostly door to door, in Cache Valley. I just love seeing my students grow in their ability, and it is so much fun to see that. AS mentioned earlier, I took quite a few years of both piano, and organ lessons myself, and played in the band for six years. Then, after I served an LDS mission in Germany, I got together with a bunch of guys that had been in the high school dance band, and we formed a band again, and played for dances all over Cache Valley. I did graduate from USU in Mechanical Engineering, but never lost my love for music. Now, I am retired from engineering, but still design RC planes, boats and cars for fun, but I also sell some of my designs to magazines. I would love to hear from you, and show you my piano studio, I do have a seven ft. Samick piano, which has an amazingly good tone.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Just give me a call on the cell phone, 435-232-5768, and I would like to meet both parents, and the student, or if is not one of your kids, just meet you. I will show you my piano studio, in North Logan, the books I use to teach, and play you a few fun pieces on the piano, so you can see what I do.
Then, we just figure out a time for lessons, I give you a 10 percent off coupon for the books, and we start lessons usually the very next week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Piano lessons from 8 to 14 myself, 6 years of band instruction in junior high and high school, and many years of just playing, memorizing, and composing my own music on the piano.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, it is 10 dollars per lesson, which lasts a half an hour. I have my students pay when they arrive at the lesson, in either cash or by check.
