About
Hi, I’m Mia! I’m a passionate music educator with 8 years of experience teaching violin, piano, and viola. I studied violin with Leslie Henrie and attended the University of Utah, where I had the privilege of taking from Hasse Borup.
As the string manager at Summerhays Music, I’ve worked with hundreds of players and developed a broad knowledge of string instruments. Music has played a huge role in my life, providing an escape and a source of peace during difficult times. I’m excited to share that same gift with my students.
I use different teaching methods based on each student’s needs and goals. For violin and viola, we mainly work out of Suzuki and Solos for Young Violinists/Violists. For piano, I prefer Faber/Suzuki, but I’m always accommodating and flexible to whatever best suits the student.
In my free time, I love connecting to nature, learning guitar, and playing with my pet rats and snake!
At Mia’s Music School, my goal is to inspire and guide students, helping them unlock their musical potential and enjoy the beauty of music.
