Helping my students achieve individual success on any level, and working together to achieve the next goal makes my job so rewarding.
I love playing /teaching duet to my students, teaching theory classes and music history, and introducing them to a vast repertoire of piano styles and literature which I studied for my music degree at university and beyond.
I have been teaching for 33 years and I am currently writing a book about the technique I studied from the 5 concert pianists I studied with.
I am a composer and have released one album , I'm working on my second . Composition is a lost art ! I will help you learn the foundations in my music theory classes and one on one lessons .

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I conduct a one on one interview and we discuss music preferences ; what has worked with the previous teacher (I get several transfers and advanced students). I gain as much personality information as possible about each new student.
I discuss practice expectations and initial problems /strengths at the beginning and we track .... everything !
We also set quarterly goals and have parent teacher conferences.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my degree in piano performance. I have written and directed a music festival and complete education program called "pianomastermind" which includes a ten year coordinated course in theory , ear training , sight reading, performance and technique . We advance levels prep through level ten. These courses are congruent to match university music theory entrance exams as well as music major entrance exams .
I received a 5 on both the A.P. Theory and there A.P. Ear training exams in high school.
Music state sterling scholar finalist.
Took challenge exam and passed two years Advanced Music Theory for Weber State University.
Took challenge exam and passed two years advanced ear training for Weeber State University.
Miss Weber county , Miss south Ogden, Miss utah top ten finalist.
certified pageant judge for Miss Utah /Miss America scholarship pageant program.
Editing and composition experience : I have composed and edited my own album (Classical Christmas) see iTunes , Spotify etc.
Minored in early Childhood education. I understand development and communication.

When I was Accompanying dance classes at ballet west several students wanted private piano lessons.
