Hello!
My name is Amy. I am a music teacher with over 16 years piano teaching experience. Currently, I am accepting new students from ages 6 to adult.
My students are assured of a well rounded program which instills the love of music while teaching them important personal, social, and intellectual skills. Creativity is encouraged from day one. Many of my students, even the 6 year olds, enjoy composing their own music around themes suitable to them. Performance is another key element which I nurture and encourage. My students are frequently asked to play at Christmas, birthdays, and other social functions.
As they continue in their lessons, my students are gradually exposed to a range of keyboard styles including Pop, Folk, Jazz, Classical, Country, R&B, Rock, and New Age. No aspect of music making is ignored. In addition to the traditional technical and music reading skills, my students also learn how to play from chord charts, fake books, and by ear. I strongly believe in building a broad and solid foundation early. In this way, there are no artificial limits to a student's growth.
Individual instruction allows each student to learn at their own pace. They will experience the joy and challenge of making real music!
